In a shocking turn of events, the Kogi State Governorship Election Tribunal Secretary, Mr. David Umar Mike, fell victim to a daring attack by gunmen in Lokoja on Monday.
The Kogi State Police Command confirmed that the assailants made away with sensitive petition documents related to the recently concluded gubernatorial election.
The police revealed that the incident occurred just before the Central Bank of Nigeria office at approximately 1320hrs while the victims were en route to the tribunal venue at the state High Court complex in Lokoja.
The police spokesperson, SP William Aya, detailed that Mr. Mike and his colleagues were ambushed by seven hooded men armed with heavy weaponry, who forcibly took them out of their car and seized all the petition documents.
