Hamas senior official, Osama Hamdan, has invited U.S. billionaire Elon Musk to visit the Palestinian Gaza Strip and witness the aftermath of Israeli bombardment. Hamdan extended the invitation during a press conference in Beirut, urging Musk to assess the destruction objectively. This comes after Elon Musk, the owner of the X social media platform, condemned an anti-Jewish post and toured the site of Hamas assaults on Israel, pledging to combat hatred.
Hamdan's invitation follows a 48-hour extension of the temporary truce between Israel and Hamas. He called on U.S. President Biden to reconsider the U.S. relationship with Israel, emphasizing the extensive damage inflicted on Gaza during the conflict. Hamdan urged the international community to promptly send specialized civil defense teams to assist in retrieving bodies trapped under the rubble, as thousands are reportedly still unaccounted for.
The recent truce marked the first pause in the seven-week conflict initiated by Hamas, resulting in casualties and displacements. The situation remains complex, with calls for international intervention to address the humanitarian crisis and evaluate the relationship between the U.S., Israel, and the ongoing conflict
