The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has officially joined the investigation into the tragic helicopter crash in Halloran Springs, California, which claimed the lives of six individuals, including Mr. Herbert Wigwe, Group CEO of Access Holdings, and former Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group, Mr. Abimbola Ogunbanjo.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the United States had already commenced its inquiry into the incident. NSIB's Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Bimbo Olawunmi Oladeji, revealed that Nigeria, through NSIB, has extended its full cooperation to the NTSB, by international aviation regulations.

The joint efforts aim to unravel the circumstances surrounding the Airbus Helicopter EC130B4 crash and involve meticulous investigations into airworthiness, maintenance structures, operations, meteorology, and air traffic control. The NTSB estimates the investigation to span 18 to 24 months
