In a sad turn of events in the Akinjagunla community of Ondo State, civil servant Abiodun Akintomowo tragically passed away after a sexual encounter with his mistress. Hailing from Ondo town in the Ondo West Local Government Area, Mr. Akintomowo had lodged at a local hotel before the incident unfolded.
Sources reveal that after the intimate encounter, the deceased collapsed and lost his life. The mistress, identified as the wife of a community landlord, raised the alarm and slipped into a coma but was quickly revived.
The Gazette learned that the body of Mr. Akintomowo has been deposited at the morgue of the University of Medical Sciences in Ondo town. An anonymous source, privy to the incident, recounted the tragic occurrence on a fateful Tuesday.
The source stated, "The man died in the hotel room after having sex with the woman, said to be his mistress but laced with thunderbolt, popularly called 'Magun' in local parlance. The woman raised the alarm after realizing that the man collapsed, and despite frantic efforts to rescue him, he was later confirmed dead."
State police spokesperson Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya confirmed the incident, revealing that two suspects have been arrested in connection with Mr. Akintomowo's death. The arrested individuals include the deceased's mistress and the owner of the guest house where the incident occurred.
Odunlami-Omisanya disclosed, "The man was not feeling alright after the sexual intercourse with the lady in the hotel, so he was rushed to the hospital and later died. The two suspects are still in our custody."
This tragic incident follows closely on the heels of another recent case in Akure, where a socialite named Sunday Adebayo, also known as 'Saybayo,' died after a similar circumstance. The police had arrested a mistress and the owner of the brothel in connection with Saybayo's death, with both suspects currently in custody at the police headquarters in Akure.
As these incidents raise concerns about the safety and well-being of individuals involved in intimate encounters, the local community and authorities grapple with the aftermath of yet another untimely loss.
