Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is in a significant lead, securing victories in 17 out of the 27 local government areas announced in the November 11, 2023 gubernatorial election in Imo State.
The collation process, initiated at 02:30 am at the State Collation Centre in Owerri, is still underway. With 18 parties participating, analysts note this election as a four-horse race, primarily involving Uzodimma, Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party’s Achonu Nneji, and Jack Ogunewe of the Action Alliance.
As of the latest report at 06:13 am, no other candidate has secured a local government.
