Kabir Isa, the son of the late Isa Muhammad Bawa, a prominent district head in Gatawa, Sokoto State, has been released by bandits following the payment of a substantial ransom. His elder brother, Surajo Isa, disclosed that the kidnappers received ₦60 million along with five motorcycles to secure Kabir's freedom. He returned home on the evening of August 21, shortly after the tragic news of their father’s death in captivity.
The situation surrounding Bawa’s death emerged amidst ongoing negotiations for his son’s release, highlighting the grim realities faced by families affected by abductions. Hon. Aminu Boza, a member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, confirmed that Kabir is currently receiving medical care at Usman Danfodio Teaching Hospital. Disturbingly, it was reported that Bawa's remains were buried by the kidnappers in a remote location.
