President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated the resilience and contributions of Nigerian women in a message marking International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025. In a statement issued on Saturday, Tinubu described women as the "strength" that powers the nation and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to gender equality.

"You are the bedrock of our nation, driving progress from our homes to our farms, boardrooms, and communities. Yet, 30 years after the Beijing Declaration, too many still face barriers that limit their potential," Tinubu stated.

He emphasized that his government, under the Renewed Hope agenda, is dedicated to removing these barriers, expanding financial access, and creating equal opportunities in governance, agriculture, and other sectors.

“To our mothers, daughters, sisters—your strength fuels Nigeria’s future. Together, we rise! Happy International Women’s Day,” he declared.

His message has sparked conversations about the government’s role in advancing women's rights, with activists calling for tangible policies to support women's empowerment.
