The Joint Task Force North-West, Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD), achieved a significant victory by rescuing 52 kidnapped victims in the Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The Army, in a statement released on its official account, highlighted the success of the operation as part of its ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region. On December 22, 2023, troops conducted a thorough clearance operation, targeting and dismantling terrorist enclaves in Saruwa, Kubuta, Gundumi villages, and the Bunwanga Gundumi forest within Isa LGA.

According to the statement, the OPHD troops not only successfully cleared and destroyed terrorist strongholds but also neutralized several terrorists in the process. Among the rescued victims were 14 males, 32 females, and 6 children. The liberated individuals are set to undergo a comprehensive medical check-up, debriefing, and subsequent handover to the appropriate authorities to facilitate their reunification with their families.
