Renowned Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, has criticized former media aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, for involving presidential candidate Peter Obi in actor John Okafor's health issues. Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, recently released a video seeking public assistance for his undisclosed illness that might affect his leg.
Reacting to this, Reno Omokri urged Peter Obi to cover Mr. Ibu's medical expenses, asserting that the actor had endorsed and campaigned for him in the 2023 general elections. Kanayo O. Kanayo, however, condemned Reno's post in a video shared on his Instagram page, branding it as wicked.
He emphasized that supporting a colleague is a personal choice and that it is inappropriate for individuals like Omokri and Uche Maduagwu to criticize actors for their contributions. Kanayo called for unity among the Actors Guild of Nigeria, emphasizing that people have different ways of giving privately. He also emphasized the importance of appreciating those who have already contributed based on their means.
