Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, NNPP Presidential Candidate, accuses the APC-led Federal Government of undermining Kano State's authority by backing the deposed Emir. Kwankwaso vows resistance against any attempt to destabilize Kano, emphasizing the NNPP's commitment to serving the people and protecting the state's interests.
Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, the Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, has accused the APC-led Federal Government of undermining Kano State's authority.
This accusation arises amid the ongoing emirate tussle, where federal security agencies are reportedly backing the deposed Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.
At the flag-off ceremony for an 82-kilometer rural road network in his hometown, Madobi, Kwankwaso emphasized that the people of Kano would resist any attempts to undermine their state’s authority.
He highlighted the NNPP's mass following, attributing it to the party’s pro-people stance and dedication to serving its constituents.
Kwankwaso accused certain individuals from Kano of advising the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in the state, calling this advice "madness of the highest order."
He assured that the people of Kano would oppose any such measures aimed at disrupting the state's peace and governance.
Despite the political tensions, Kwankwaso affirmed that both he and the NNPP Governor of Kano remain focused on their developmental goals and are undeterred by distractions. He declared that the NNPP would not stand idly by while external forces attempt to destabilize Kano.
Kwankwaso stressed that the NNPP is prepared to face any political challenges head-on and warned against political intimidation and harassment. He asserted that the party knows how to protect itself and its interests.
While expressing openness to dialogue and reconciliation, Kwankwaso made it clear that the NNPP would not tolerate any form of political victimization. He emphasized that the party would vigorously pursue what is best for Kano and its people.
