Princess Islamiyat Abiodun Oyefusi, the Deputy Gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the 2023 general elections in Lagos, has officially resigned from the party.
In a letter addressed to her ward chairman titled "Re: Resignation of membership from Labour Party," Oyefusi expressed gratitude to Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour for the political opportunity as his running mate.
However, she noted that she can no longer align with the current values of the Labour Party, signaling a pivotal moment for her political journey. Oyefusi thanked her team, supporters, and the ObiDatti family for their unwavering commitment during the 2023 electioneering period.
She looks forward to working with them in the future towards the shared goal of transforming Lagos into a more inclusive political landscape.
