The Ebonyi State Chapter of the Labour Party has declared that only Peter Obi, their presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, has the necessary solutions and competence to revitalize the Nigerian economy. During an expanded stakeholder meeting in Abakaliki, the party urged Nigerians to support their mission to elevate the nation.
A communiqué from the meeting, signed by Linus Okorie, Dr. Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh, and Emmanuel Nwobo, outlined the party's stance. The communiqué highlighted the discussions led by members of the National Transition Committee (NTC), including Chief Fidelis Nwankwo and Rt. Hon. Linus Okorie, focusing on the future political activities of the Labour Party, such as mobilizing new members and conducting registrations. The communiqué stated that Peter Obi remains the National Leader of the Labour Party and is deemed capable of rescuing the Nigerian economy.
Furthermore, the stakeholders set a goal to convert and register 400,000 new members into the party. Chief Fidelis Nwankwo was unanimously recognized as the leader of the Labour Party in Ebonyi State.
