Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the Lagos State governorship election, has expressed his disagreement with the verdict of the Lagos State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal and has decided to appeal the judgment. Rhodes-Vivour made this announcement through a press release and emphasized the importance of defending the integrity of the vote in a democracy.
He assured his supporters and Lagosians in general that he remains confident in the appellate courts and their ability to provide substantial justice. Rhodes-Vivour urged everyone to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding during this process.
He also reiterated his commitment to bringing about empathetic leadership in Lagos that would create economic opportunities for its residents. Rhodes-Vivour acknowledged that democracy demands vigilance and resilience and stated that the essence of democracy lies in both voting and defending the integrity of that vote.
The LP candidate affirmed that his legal team has been instructed to appeal the judgment, and he remains determined to stay the course until victory is achieved. He thanked his supporters, campaign team, party members, activists, well-wishers, and all Lagosians who contributed to his journey in the election.
