The Lagos State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chairperson, Philip Aivoji, who was abducted alongside other party officials, has been released from captivity. The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the successful efforts of the police in securing Mr. Aivoji's freedom from the grasp of the kidnappers. The PDP chieftain, kidnapped on Thursday near Isara on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, was on his way back from a crucial party meeting convened by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan.
