National President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), Uche Agbo, announced the development on Saturday, stating that the actress passed away on April 27, 2026, after a prolonged illness. Kechere was the Vice Chairman of the DGN Abuja Chapter. She graduated in Theatre Arts from the University of Ibadan and joined Nollywood in 2001, first appearing in the popular August-Meeting films. She hailed from Mbaise in Imo State.
