A 70-year-old woman in Uganda, Safina Namukwaya, has given birth to twins through IVF treatment at a fertility centre in Kampala. The Women's Hospital International and Fertility Centre (WHI&FC) celebrated the "extraordinary achievement," emphasizing the strength and resilience of the human spirit. Namukwaya, one of the oldest women to give birth, delivered a boy and a girl via caesarean, describing the experience as a "miracle."
Despite facing challenges, including the abandonment by her partner upon learning about the twins, she expressed joy and gratitude for the successful delivery.
This marks Namukwaya's second delivery in three years, with her previous birth occurring in 2020.
