The Supreme Court of Nigeria has constituted a panel to review all appeals related to the 2023 Presidential Election. These appeals challenge the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), and dispute the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kassim Shettima.

Following the dismissal of the petitions of Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Peter Gregory Obi & Labour Party, and Atiku Abubakar & the PDP by the Justice Tsammani-led Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal on September 6, fresh evidence has been submitted by Atiku Abubakar regarding the eligibility of Bola Tinubu and the Chicago State University depositions.

The panel, consisting of esteemed Supreme Court Justices, will begin hearing these appeals today. Each justice brings a unique background and experience to the table.

Justice John Inyang Okoro JSC will chair the panel. He has a distinguished legal career, having been a member of significant judgments, including the affirmation of President Muhammadu Buhari's victory in 2019 and the disqualification of the Bayelsa Governor-Elect, David Lyon.

Justice Mohammed Lawal Garba JSC, who was the Chairman of the 2019 Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, brings vast experience in handling election-related cases.

Justice Ibrahim Mohammed Musa Saulawa JSC has been actively involved in the Court of Appeal, contributing his expertise to various divisions of the court.

Justice Adamu Jauro JSC has a background in legal practice, prosecution, and judiciary, making him a well-rounded member of the panel.

Justice Tijjani Abubakar JSC brings years of legal experience in both public and private sectors, including his tenure as Chief Judge of the Gambia.

Justice Emmanuel Akomaye Agim JSC possesses international experience as a Chief Judge in the Gambia and has played a significant role in various court judgments, including the resolution of ownership disputes of oil wells in Rivers State.
