Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has appeared at the Federal High Court in Lagos for his arraignment over alleged abuse of the Nigerian currency.
The businessman and socialite is facing three counts before Justice Kehinde Ogundare, related to his actions at a social event where he allegedly sprayed and tampered with the nation's currency, violating the Central Bank Act of 2007.
Cubana Chief Priest, already in the dock, stands accused of spraying the Naira at Eko Hotel on February 13, 2024. The charges stem from his actions during the event, where he purportedly tampered with funds in N500 notes issued by the CBN, spraying them for an extended period while dancing.
The arraignment follows his detention by the EFCC ahead of the court appearance. Further details are expected to emerge as the legal proceedings unfold.
