Bandits release 40 hostages in the Kuchi community, Niger State, after ransom payment and motorcycle provision. Victims, mostly women and children, regained freedom following negotiations.
In Kuchi community, Niger State, bandits have freed 40 out of the 150 residents they abducted three weeks ago, following a payment of N2 million ransom and the provision of 12 Honda motorcycles by the community.
The hostages, predominantly women and children, were released on Tuesday. Negotiations are ongoing for the remaining captives as the community remains deserted without government intervention.
