The Federal Government revealed plans for a new minimum wage that will take effect on April 1, 2024. Idris Mohammed, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, shared that the existing N30,000 minimum wage would expire at the end of March 2024.
Mohammed emphasized the government's commitment to proper negotiations with labor, highlighting the formation of a committee to address the wage issue collaboratively.
The Minister assured Nigerian workers that a new wage structure, applicable nationwide, would be implemented by April. With this development, expectations are high for positive changes in salary structures not only in the public sector but also in the private sector and among state governors.
