The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) announced the successful elimination of Yellow Jambros, a notorious terrorist responsible for numerous kidnappings and killings along the Abuja-Kaduna Road and in multiple communities across Kaduna, Niger, Katsina, and Zamfara.
According to Edward Gabkwet, the NAF spokesperson, Yellow Jambros and over a dozen of his followers were killed in an air strike while attempting to cross the Jikudna River.
The operation, executed by the "Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch," involved tracking the terrorists from Zamfara to Niger and ultimately neutralizing them in Shiroro Local Government Area.
Gabkwet explained that the precision strike, executed on Saturday, was prompted by the terrorists' assumption that air raids were suspended in the wake of a recent unfortunate incident in Kaduna.
Yellow Jambros and his cohorts had been responsible for multiple atrocities in the region, including kidnappings and killings along critical roadways and in various communities.
The operation marks a significant victory in the ongoing fight against terrorism in Nigeria's Northwest and Northcentral regions
