President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on a swift diplomatic journey to Berlin, Germany, where he will participate in the G-20 Compact with Africa (CwA) Conference on November 20, 2023. Accompanied by key ministers, including Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, Mr. Wale Edun, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, and Chief Adebayo Adelabu, the president's visit aims to strengthen economic and business ties, focusing on critical areas such as energy, trade, infrastructure, and new technologies.
Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale highlighted that the G20 CwA Conference coincides with the Fourth G20 Investment Summit, co-hosted by the German government and business associations. Tinubu's presence underscores his commitment to attracting foreign direct investment to Nigeria, aligning with his recent discussions with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during his visit to Abuja and Lagos.
Ngelale emphasized the reciprocal nature of the visit, reciprocating Scholz's October trip to Nigeria. Tinubu aims to build on productive discussions with German business representatives, emphasizing the need for increased German investment across various sectors in Nigeria.
The visit further solidifies the economic relationship between Nigeria and Germany, with bilateral trade volume increasing from two to three billion Euros between 2021 and 2022. After the conference's conclusion, President Tinubu will return to Nigeria, concluding a series of international engagements that included visits to Guinea-Bissau and Saudi Arabia
