Nigerian President Bola Tinubu is set to travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to attend the Saudi-Africa Summit and the Arab-African Summit scheduled for November 10th and 11th, 2023.
The visit aims to aggressively promote Nigeria and attract foreign direct investment. As the Chairman of the Authority of Heads of Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), President Tinubu will actively participate in these summits.
Discussions will focus on economic ties between the regions, counterterrorism, environmental issues, and agriculture.
A key aspect of the talks will revolve around accelerating trade and investment between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the African continent. President Tinubu is keen to ensure that Nigeria can fully leverage the opportunities presented by the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, which is set to create a single trade market of over 1 billion Africans.
According to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, it is expected that by 2050, the African market will surpass $29 trillion, offering significant economic potential.
