In a bid to uphold peace and security, Nigerian Army troops recently executed successful clearance and cordon-and-search operations in Borno and Nasarawa states, resulting in the elimination of terrorists and the recovery of firearms.

On April 19, 2024, troops, in conjunction with a hybrid force, conducted a clearance operation in Kana Village, Biu Local Government Area of Borno State. Engaging with terrorists around Nguma Village, troops neutralized two terrorists and retrieved two AK-47 rifles, a motorbike, six bicycles, and assorted items abandoned by fleeing terrorists.
The operation is ongoing in the vicinity. Simultaneously, acting on credible intelligence, troops in Nasarawa State undertook a cordon-and-search operation at suspected criminals' hideouts in Abuni Village, Awe Local Government Area.

This operation yielded the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, two AK-47 magazines, and 35 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition. The weapons were found in the residence of Abdullahi Musa, leading to the apprehension of other suspects. These operations underscore the troops' dedication to safeguarding communities.

The public is urged to continue supporting the Nigerian Army and security agencies by providing timely and credible information to aid ongoing operations
