The Defence Headquarters revealed the names of terrorist leaders eliminated in operations across Nigeria's northern region. Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed the details during a briefing in Abuja.
These high-profile terrorists, including Abu Bilal Minuki and Haruna Isiya Boderi, were neutralized in separate missions between January and March 2024. Notably, Buba highlighted the demise of Kachallah Damina, along with over 50 combatants, on March 24.
Additionally, the operations led to the arrest of 2,308 terrorists and the rescue of 1,241 kidnapped hostages during the first three months of the year.
The Defence Headquarters' efforts signify a significant stride in the fight against insurgency, bolstering national security and safeguarding citizens' lives and property.
