Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, vehemently denied Senate President Godswill Akpabio's assertion that states received an additional N30 billion each for food security.
Speaking during the commissioning of the Iseyin Central Mosque, Makinde clarified that Oyo State had not received such funds and emphasized the need for leaders to instill confidence and hope rather than engage in blame games.
He challenged Akpabio's reliance on unverified reports, stating states couldn't obtain funds directly from the Federal Inland Revenue Service. Makinde stressed that transparency and genuine solutions were crucial during these challenging times.
The Sultan of Sokoto, present at the event, commended Makinde's leadership and encouraged him to stay on the right track.
