The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) community in Awka, Anambra State, has been plunged into distress following the reported kidnapping of one of their own, Miss Francisca Chioma. The student from the Science Education Department vanished en route to a burial ceremony, leaving her friends, colleagues, and family in a state of anxiety.
According to reports, all attempts to contact Chioma since her disappearance have been futile, intensifying concerns about her safety. Confirming the incident, the institution's Chief Security Officer, Ken Chukwurah, disclosed that the relevant security agencies have been notified and are actively involved in the investigation.
In a distressing turn, the kidnappers allegedly demanded a hefty N10 million ransom for Chioma's release, later reduced to N2 million, with a deadline set for today. Faced with this dire situation, Chioma's classmates and friends have launched a fervent appeal for public support and donations to meet the ransom demand.
Social media platforms have become a rallying point for the campaign, with appeals for prayers, advice, and financial assistance flooding timelines. Desperate for Chioma's safe return, her peers are leveraging every available avenue to gather the necessary funds and ensure her release.
As the UNIZIK community awaits further developments, the Anambra State Police Command has urged anyone with relevant information to come forward, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in resolving this distressing ordeal. Amidst the uncertainty, hope and solidarity pervade as the search for Francisca Chioma continues, underscoring the unwavering spirit of unity within the university community.
