On Sunday night, terrorists clad in military uniforms launched an audacious attack on Tasharnagulle village in Katsina State, abducting 30 individuals. The assailants reportedly arrived around 8 pm, firing into the air before coercing villagers to stay put, claiming to be security personnel there to assist.
Witnesses revealed that the terrorists, after threatening those attempting to flee, systematically moved from house to house, compelling residents to assemble in a central location.
At this point, a headcount was conducted, resulting in the abduction of 31 men and women. One fortunate escapee managed to evade capture and reported the incident to authorities. While residents confirmed the ordeal, police authorities, led by spokesman Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, ASP, stated an ongoing investigation into the matter.
The incident raises grave concerns about the audacity of terrorists impersonating security personnel.
