In a concerning turn of events, the Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended a woman identified as Galadima in the Tudun Wada area of Kaduna. Sources indicate that the arrest is linked to a Facebook post wherein Galadima allegedly criticized Governor Uba Sani's remarks concerning former Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
It's reported that Galadima's social media commentary drew attention to Governor Sani's recent statements, prompting her arrest on Sunday afternoon. Witnesses in her community disclosed that Galadima's phone remained unreachable after the arrest.
Despite inquiries, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Sani, expressed unawareness of the situation and redirected queries to the DSS for clarification.
This incident raises concerns regarding freedom of expression and the reach of state authorities in monitoring online dissent.
