Nigerian footballer Alex Iwobi has returned to social media after a brief hiatus, following online abuse he received for his performance in the Super Eagles' 2-1 defeat to Cote d'Ivoire in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final.
The Fulham player faced harsh criticism, prompting him to delete all his Instagram posts. Iwobi's teammates, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and Sports Minister John Enoh condemned the online attacks. Iwobi, in response, shared a video on Instagram, offering his fans a glimpse into his recent activities and teasing a snippet of an unreleased rap song.
The post received support from fellow players, including William Troost-Ekong, Frank Onyeka, and Kenneth Omeruo, who expressed solidarity in the comment section
