High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, Chairman of Tantita Security Services, has pledged to contribute to the increase in daily crude oil production to enhance the nation's revenue. The commitment came during a ceremony in Oporoza, Delta State, where Tompolo received the "Internal Security Meritorious Award" from the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ). Recognizing the media's essential role in fostering peace and supporting democracy, Tompolo expressed his dedication to boosting crude oil production.

Highlighting the significance of the media, Tompolo emphasized its indispensable role in Nigeria and called for appreciation. The Federal Government had engaged Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), Tompolo's private pipeline surveillance security outfit, to combat crude oil theft in the Niger Delta region.

NUJ President Chris Isiguzo commended Tompolo's contributions to internal security, particularly in the Niger Delta, acknowledging his efforts in addressing crude oil theft, a persistent challenge for the nation. Isiguzo stressed that Tompolo's commitment and diligence had significantly reduced the activities of those involved in pilfering the country's resources. The NUJ conferred the Internal Security Meritorious Award on Tompolo in recognition of his exceptional contributions to maintaining internal security in Nigeria.

During the ceremony, Isiguzo affirmed the media's crucial role as the "oxygen of democratic governance" and emphasized that collective efforts were necessary for addressing security challenges, underscoring the importance of a united approach to maintaining peace and security in the nation.
