Atiku Abubakar criticizes President Bola Tinubu, dubbing him "T-Pain" in response to the hardships faced by Nigerians due to recent fuel subsidy policies. The former Vice President highlights the economic crisis, escalating inflation, and recent petrol price hikes, urging for a reassessment of the administration's approach.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticized President Bola Tinubu, calling him “T-Pain” for his apparent indifference to the hardships facing Nigerians. In a recent post on X, Atiku attributed the country's economic crisis to the government's mismanagement of the fuel subsidy, particularly its recent removal. He expressed concern over rising inflation, stating that the current administration’s actions are worsening living conditions.
Atiku emphasized that Tinubu’s negligence amidst increasing hardships is alarming. His comments come on the heels of another petrol price hike by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), which recently adjusted prices in Lagos and Abuja. In Lagos, petrol prices surged to ₦998 per litre, up from ₦855, leading to panic buying and long queues at filling stations. Similar increases were seen in Abuja, where prices rose from ₦897 to ₦1,030.
This latest hike follows a previous adjustment in early September when petrol prices jumped significantly. The NNPCL has not provided an official statement regarding the recent price surge, but it hinted at further increases after starting operations at the Dangote Refinery.
