The Police in Borno state have confirmed a distressing incident where a suicide bomber injured two individuals in the Biu Local Government Area. ASP Daso Nahum, the command's public relations officer, disclosed the occurrence, stating that the event transpired around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday during night prayers.
The male suicide bomber, suspected to be targeting the mosque, detonated the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near the roundabout, resulting in his demise. The injured passersby were swiftly transported to a hospital for medical care.
Following the incident, a joint security team was dispatched to restore normalcy in the area. Nahum emphasized the need for heightened vigilance, particularly during Ramadan, urging citizens to promptly report any suspicious activities to the security agencies.
