In a recent announcement at the World Airport Awards in Frankfurt, Germany, Skytrax unveiled its rankings for the best airports in Africa for 2024. Cape Town International Airport in South Africa emerged as the continent's top airport, securing the prestigious title for its outstanding performance in various categories.

The survey, conducted annually by Skytrax, involved over 570 airports worldwide and evaluated traveler experiences across key areas such as check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security, and immigration. Cape Town Airport's stellar performance also earned it the accolade for 'Best Airport Staff Service in Africa.'

Additionally, South Africa demonstrated its aviation prowess with Durban King Shaka Airport clinching the title of 'Best Regional Airport in Africa' and Johannesburg's Tambo International Airport securing third place in the rankings. However, notable exclusions from the list included Nigeria's major airports, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, and Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

Despite Nigeria's absence, the awards shed light on the excellence and continuous improvement efforts of airports across the African continent, while also serving as a benchmark for further advancements in the region's aviation industry.
