NJC launches probe into 27 high court judges for alleged misconduct. Four panels to investigate credible claims. Justice Olagunju cautioned for inappropriate language. Five judges on the watch list for poor performance. NJC demonstrates a commitment to judicial integrity amid growing concerns about misconduct in Nigerian courts.

The National Judicial Council (NJC) has initiated an inquiry into alleged misconduct by 27 high court judges across Nigeria. This decision came after the NJC's 106th meeting, where 22 petitions against various judges were examined. Four investigative panels have been formed to look into the most credible allegations.

Separately, the NJC issued a cautionary letter to Justice O. M. Olagunju of Oyo State High Court for using inappropriate language in official correspondence. Additionally, five judges have been placed on a watch list due to subpar performance.

This move underscores the NJC's commitment to upholding judicial integrity and addressing concerns about misconduct within the Nigerian judiciary.
