The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has refused to accept the Appeal Court's judgment that led to the sacking of Kano Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The court's ruling aligned with the earlier tribunal decision, declaring the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s Nasiru Gawuna as the winner due to alleged breaches of electoral laws by the NNPP.
NNPP's Acting National Chairman, Abba Ali, expressed shock at what he deemed one of the "most ridiculous judgments" in Nigerian election jurisprudence, claiming the court unjustly declared the APC candidate the winner.
Governor Yusuf has rejected the verdict, labeling it a "miscarriage of justice," and announced plans to approach the Supreme Court to contest the decision.
The political landscape in Kano is now rife with tensions as the legal battle intensifies
