Women supporters of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) flooded the streets of Kano, clad in red attire, to express their discontent with the recent Appeal Court judgment that ousted Governor Abba Yusuf. Despite police warnings against protests, the women, numbering in the hundreds, marched from the residence of the party's 2023 presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to the police headquarters.

The protesters carried placards with diverse inscriptions, passionately calling for justice and asserting that Governor Yusuf rightfully won the March governorship election. Some participants even infused spirituality into their protests. This marks the third demonstration since the court declared Yusuf ineligible to contest the election, citing a breach of Electoral Law by the NNPP.

Governor Yusuf, who termed the verdict a "miscarriage of justice," has rejected the decision and taken the case to the Supreme Court. The NNPP, deeming the judgment among the "most ridiculous" in Nigeria's history, firmly believes that the APC's Nasiru Gawuna was wrongly declared the winner.

Amidst a Certified True Copy (CTC) controversy, with contradictions emerging and being attributed to clerical errors, the court has reaffirmed the validity of the judgment sacking Governor Yusuf. The APC, welcoming the decision, sees it as a testament to the independence and vibrancy of the judiciary, instilling confidence in the justice system
