President Bola Ahmed Tinubu addressed government officials and appointees during a three-day retreat titled "Delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda" at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. President Tinubu, who emphasized his commitment to fulfilling the expectations of Nigerians, made it clear that non-performing officials are free to leave, declaring, "If you're not performing, we review, and if you cannot perform, you leave us."
He assured those present of the freedom to carry out their responsibilities effectively and encouraged them to seek guidance on when and how to perform their duties. President Tinubu urged his ministers and government officials to support his mission, acknowledging that he, like any human, may make mistakes but would promptly rectify them when pointed out.
He stressed his role as a president for all Nigerians, regardless of political affiliations, describing the country as one big family with different rooms. "I'm here to give direction to this family and strengthen relationships by providing hope to our people," he asserted.
President Tinubu urged civil servants not to view ministers as temporary figures and advised ministers to be partners in the nation's growth, emphasizing the need for focus and commitment to delivering essential services. He highlighted the importance of good healthcare and quality education as vital tools against poverty and reassured foreign investors of a conducive environment for capital investment and repatriation of gains
