Film One Studios officially confirmed this remarkable milestone in a press statement on Thursday, January 4, 2024. Kene Okwuosa, the Group CEO of Film House Group, hailed the film's success as emblematic of a "golden era for Nigerian cinema" and a testament to the thriving creative industry.
Premiering on December 15, 2023, the film quickly gained momentum, raking in a staggering ₦113.3 million in its opening weekend, securing its position as the highest-grossing Nollywood opening for the year.
The momentum continued with sold-out showings nationwide and even extended its success to the United Kingdom. Closing 2023 with a total gross of ₦854.3 million, 'A Tribe Called Judah' not only claimed the title of the highest-grossing Nollywood film for the year but also became the highest-grossing Nollywood title of all time.
