Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu announced she will no longer offer free services to Abia State, citing a lack of support during her 2012 kidney illness. She emphasized the importance of compensation for her contributions, highlighting her personal experiences and the need for recognition from local authorities.
In a recent interview, veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu expressed her decision to no longer provide free services to her home state of Abia. This stance stems from her personal experiences during a serious health crisis in 2012 when she suffered from a kidney-related illness. Nwosu claims that she did not receive support from the Abia state government during her time of need, which has significantly impacted her view of offering free assistance.
Reflecting on her situation, Nwosu stated, “I have personally decided that there is nothing my Abia State will call me for that I would go for free. They would pay through their nose for me to go.” She emphasized the importance of valuing her contributions, particularly given that her fame helped her gain assistance from the Lagos state government, thanks to a friend who recognized her talent.
Nwosu, who hails from Arochukwu in Abia, believes that celebrities should be compensated for their work, especially when they have experienced hardships without support from local authorities. Her remarks have sparked varied reactions on social media, with some agreeing with her sentiments while others criticize her stance.
