MC Oluomo and the NURTW are set to launch Team Nigeria Project (TNP) to garner support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election. The movement highlights the President’s economic achievements and aims to engage citizens, particularly women and youth, in securing his second term.

Transport unionist, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, alongside the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), is preparing to launch a new socio-political movement designed to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid for 2027. The initiative, named the Team Nigeria Project (TNP), aims to boost citizen engagement and political participation across Nigeria.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos on April 9, 2025, Olamilekan Pedro, a key spokesperson for the project, emphasized that the group’s primary goal is to rally support for Tinubu, highlighting the President’s impactful leadership since taking office in 2023. According to Pedro, the administration's tough yet necessary decisions, such as the removal of fuel subsidies, have had a positive economic impact.

“Under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria has experienced a significant economic turnaround,” Pedro said. He further cited the growing internal revenue generation (IGR), increased federal allocations to states, stabilizing currency, improved infrastructure, and a reduction in insecurity as key achievements.

The initiative seeks to gather more support, especially from women and youth, for the President’s re-election. The Team Nigeria Project’s official launch is expected to take place next month in Abuja, with major figures from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) anticipated to attend.

While some political figures have been critical of MC Oluomo’s leadership in the NURTW, his new political movement aims to capitalize on the union’s extensive grassroots network to rally voters ahead of the 2027 election.
