Vice Adm. Emmanuel Ogalla, Chief of the Naval Staff, commended his officers and personnel for a job well done in the nation's oil-producing regions, attributing a significant boost in oil production to their efforts.
During a recent visit to the Central Naval Command in Yenagoa, Ogalla revealed that since June 2023, when his team took over security duties, oil production surged from 700,000 to an impressive 1.7 million barrels per day.
The naval chief emphasized intelligence-driven operations, community involvement, and collaboration with other agencies as key contributors to their success.
By impounding illegal vessels, demobilizing criminal operations, and creating a costly environment for illegal activities, Ogalla aims to further elevate oil production by an additional 50 percent in 2024.
