Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke and Benue Governor Hyacinth Alia have committed to implementing the new N70,000 minimum wage. In a significant development for workers’ welfare, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, have both affirmed their commitment to implementing the new N70,000 minimum wage. Governor Adeleke announced that Osun will comply fully with the minimum wage once the National Assembly finalizes and enacts the bill into law. He stressed that adhering to this law is a priority for his administration, emphasizing his dedication to workers' welfare.

Governor Adeleke, through his Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, assured that the state government is prepared to meet the new wage requirements, reflecting his administration’s focus on improving workers' conditions. This pledge aligns with the governor’s broader commitment to prioritize workers’ well-being in Osun State.

Simultaneously, Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has also pledged to adhere to the new minimum wage. During a press briefing in Makurdi, Alia highlighted that despite economic challenges, his administration has devised strategies to ensure the payment of the new wage. He described civil servants as crucial to the effective functioning of government and stressed that his administration would ensure they receive the wage approved by the federal government.

Both governors’ commitments come as part of broader efforts to address workers' issues across Nigeria, with an emphasis on enhancing their welfare amid economic uncertainties. The implementation of the new minimum wage is seen as a critical step towards ensuring fair compensation for civil servants in both states.
