The Lagos State Police Command, in collaboration with health officials, has initiated the process of exhuming the remains of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and was laid to rest in the Ikorodu area of Lagos the following day. His untimely death sparked protests by his fans, who called on the police to investigate the circumstances surrounding his demise. In response to public outcry, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun ordered a forensic investigation into the cause of death.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, formed a ten-person team, including a pathologist, to conduct the exhumation and investigation. Owohunwa, leading the team, also planned to visit Mohbad's father in Ikorodu. The exhumation process is currently underway, with health officials from the state ministry of health participating. Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed these developments, noting that the Commissioner of Police would visit Mohbad's father later in the day.
