The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that there is substantial evidence linking Nigerian singer Naira Marley and socialite Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, known as Sam Larry, to the assault on late singer Mohbad while he was alive.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, provided this update on the ongoing investigation into Mohbad's case. While Naira Marley and Sam Larry denied criminal liability in Mohbad's death, electronic and credible witness evidence connects them to cyberbullying, threats to life, assault resulting in harm, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace against the deceased during his lifetime. These incidents occurred at The Chandelier Club and Elegushi Beach in June 2023 and the alleged assault on Mohbad in October 2022 near Naira Marley's Lekki residence.
Owohunwa also mentioned that the police have identified 26 witnesses in this case. Previously, Sam Larry explained that his altercation with Mohbad stemmed from a dispute over N2 million owed to him by the late singer. The incident gained attention on social media when a video showed Sam Larry and others harassing Mohbad, who had claimed he was assaulted by Naira Marley after requesting a change of manager
