Police operatives in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have apprehended a pregnant woman for orchestrating her kidnapping. The incident unfolded when Chiedozie Ubah reported to the police that his wife, Rosemary Ubah, had gone missing after leaving for a hospital scan.

Subsequently, a demand for a N2 million ransom was made through Rosemary's phone. However, upon investigation, it was revealed that Rosemary had colluded with her boyfriend, Walter Ezeala, to stage the abduction.

The husband, unaware of the deceit, transferred the ransom into his wife's account as instructed. Rosemary later confessed to sharing N800,000 with her boyfriend while pocketing N1.2 million. Police recovered N793,500 from the culprits upon arrest.

Additionally, another incident of a faked kidnapping was disclosed, underscoring the need for vigilance against such scams.

The suspects are slated for prosecution as authorities caution against the prevalence of staged abductions for financial gain.
