In a significant move to strengthen Nigeria's civil service, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he also swore in eight new Federal Permanent Secretaries.
The ceremony, announced by Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, saw the induction of carefully selected individuals from various states and geo-political zones. Among those sworn in were Dr. Emanso Umobong Okop from Akwa-Ibom, Obi Emeka Vitalis from Anambra, and Mahmood Fatima from Bauchi, representing a diverse cross-section of Nigeria's regions.
Presidential Spokesman Ajuri Ngelale emphasized that these appointments followed a rigorous selection process, including examinations conducted by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. President Tinubu expressed high expectations for the new appointees, calling for absolute dedication and diligence in service to the nation.
