President Bola Tinubu has taken prompt action, directing the immediate settlement of Aso Rock's outstanding electricity bill to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC). AEDC had threatened disconnection, listing Aso Rock among its debtors.
Contrary to the initial claim of a N923 million debt, the clarified outstanding bill is N342,352,217.46. Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, assures prompt payment of the debt before the week's end after reconciling the position to the satisfaction of both parties.
Gbajabiamila also encourages other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to follow the Presidency's lead, reconcile their accounts with AEDC, and settle outstanding electricity bills
