Late Thursday night, the Lagos State Police Command officially announced the arrest of the controversial Lagos socialite known as Sam Larry, also known as Balogun Eletu. His arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Details have emerged on how Sam Larry was apprehended. According to an anonymous police source, he was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Thursday evening. Upon his arrival from Kenya, law enforcement officers took him into custody and transported him to the state police headquarters for questioning.
Sam Larry's name had become prominent as the demand for justice regarding Mohbad's death gained momentum. This development follows the earlier invitation of both Sam Larry and Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, for questioning in connection with Mohbad's demise.
The police had previously confirmed that pathologists had completed the autopsy on Mohbad, with the results pending. This came after the exhumation of Mohbad's remains by a joint team of the Nigeria Police Force and health officials. Additionally, the nurse who administered an injection to the deceased singer before his passing on September 12 was also arrested by the police.
