The Department of State Service (DSS) refutes claims of invading Kano Emir's Palace, clarifying their presence was for the First Lady's visit. Security personnel were withdrawn due to the Emir's absence. The DSS emphasizes no involvement in recent Assembly developments dissolving Kano Emirates. Tensions rise amidst conflicting reports and legislative actions.

The Department of State Service (DSS) has firmly denied reports alleging their invasion of the Emir of Kano's Palace, emphasizing that their presence was part of security arrangements for the visit of the First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu.

Mr. Muhammad Alhassan, the state Director of DSS, clarified that their personnel were withdrawn upon the postponement of the visit due to the Emir's absence. He emphasized that the DSS had no involvement in the recent developments at the State House of Assembly.

These statements come amidst heightened tensions following the Assembly's repeal of the Kano Emirates Council Law, 2019, effectively dissolving several Emirates, including Bichi, Gaya, Karaye, and Rano.
